Getting married in Nottingham

Venues:
There are some terrific venues to get married in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire, ranging from the famous castle to the smaller churches, hotels and restaurants, which are both in the town centre and surrounding areas. Most of these venues are really photogenic, and look lovely as a backdrop for your wedding photography. A few of the more commonly used venues include Nottingham County Cricket Club at Trent Bridge, Park Inn Nottingham, The Sheriff's Lodge, Colwick Hall Hotel, Vision (in the town centre), Park Plaza Nottingham, Britannia Nottingham (St James Street, Nottingham), Cockliffe House (Burnstump Country Park), Nottingham, County Hall (in West Bridgford, Nottingham), Crowne Plaza Nottingham (Wellston Street), Gedling House, Harts Restaurant, Lakeside Mansfield Road, (in Arnold)

As a Nottingham wedding photographer I have a soft spot for a few venues, where the photography always looks so stunning and memorable. Some churches are truly historic, and full of wonderful features. There is a Tudor church - St. Mary's (situated in the Lace Market). Nottingham also has some really pretty Norman churches notably St Wilfred’s Church in Calverton, Gelding parish church which has a beautiful spire, St Peter's in Nottingham city centre, and slightly further away - Southwell Minster which is about 10 miles north of Nottingham. Nottingham also has some unique modern churches - St Cyprian’s in Carlton springs to mind

Nottingham is a very popular place for brides and grooms to hold their hen and stag nights, where the town centre is full of trendy bars, clubs and good hotels

Portraits and portraiture
if needed, as your wedding photographer, I can use a photographic studio near the town centre of Nottingham, where I can shoot bridal portraits in a quiet relaxed atmosphere. Often couples planning a wedding opt for an engagement photo shoot, which sometimes is used in the wedding invitations, and place cards for the wedding breakfast. If you do not fancy a studio photo session, there are plenty of other suitable locations in Nottinghamshire, which are perfect for a Bridal portrait

Location
Nottingham is conveniently situated in the East Midlands, with Newark on Trent, Southwell, Mansfield, Derby and Leicester close by

Transport
Getting to Nottingham is simple; there is a train station right into the town centre, along with a National express and bus station. Nottingham is situated just off the M1, between the East Midlands airport junction and the Derby and Mansfield junctions
